Auli, which is 16km by road from Joshimath have become one of the best ideal winter and summer destination center. The best attraction of the area is Asia Highest and Longest cable car ride starting from 1890 elevation Joshimath and endign at higher altitude at 3000 meter covering 180 degree view of the Himalayan Mountain over 7000 meter. Second that make the Auli for Winter Selection A 4. km long slope ranging from a height of 2450 to 3159 m is good for skiers and snowboarders. There is one snow beaters which beat the snow to keep the slopes fit for skiing at all times durng winter season. A 1000 m long ski-lift carries skiers back to the 10 number tower slope, chair car 800 meter ride is another option in winter and summer. Skiing & Snowboarding Equipment: Our Ski Shop at Lower Auli offer modern ski equipments and skiing cloths on rent. Day uses ski lesson are also available at our Ski Shop. We request and advised to bring heavy woolen clothing's like caps, socks, gloves, mufflers, pullovers, trousers, wind proof jackets, dark glasses, gum / snow boots and a torch for personal use.

When is the best time to go for skiing?

Obviously snowfall start from end of December and January meaning fresh powder snow (soft and fluffy) but often grey and cold days, February offers blue skies but the weather is often super cold and freezed. March is a bit of a gamble - the snow melt fast. So best time is Mid January till Early March.

What do I need to pack?

Get your own a waterproof jacket and trousers plus are willing to buy some thermal tops and bottoms, a fleece, some gloves and sunglasses, you will be fine! But ask around,
